Châtelard-Rosel
The aim of this project is to replace the SBB's 132-kV line and the 220-kV line between Châtelard and Rosel by adding a 380-kV line as part of the planned commissioning of Nant de Drance in 2016.
The first major step was taken on 3 February when the corridor was defined by DETEC, putting an end to the transmission lines plan (SÜL). The documents for the second-stage licensing procedure was submitted to the Federal Strong Current Inspectorate in Fehraltdorf on 1 December 2010. The project publicly disclosed in June 2011 envisages the construction of a 380-kV line along the existing Emosson line route from Châtelard to Finhaut, from where it will drop steeply towards Trientschlucht.
The SBB line would be laid on its first section and descend steeply from Les Cuisons to Les Marécottes, then at a later stage laid underground behind the zoo through Les Granges and onwards to Vernayaz. The existing line from Emosson would be dismantled.
