This project is at the initial phase of the procedure, i.e. defining the corridor. At present the two options of above- and below-ground lines are being examined against the list of criteria. At this point in time, therefore, no decision has been made on the manner in which the Chippis-Mörel line is to be implemented. For Alpiq there is no question that the overhead line will incur significantly less damage than the underground option, since the disadvantages in terms of landscape conservation, finances and grid security are completely identical in the Upper and Lower Valais.

Since the corridor for the future Chippis-Mörel line has not yet been defined, it is not possible at present to design a route/draw up a budget.
