New renewable energies for Switzerland and Europe
Small hydropower and wind power: Alpiq is meeting the challenge of achieving secure, low-carbon supplies of electricity for Switzerland and Europe by driving forward the expansion of renewable energies.
EolJorat is a wind farm project jointly managed by Alpiq and Romande Energie with the aim of building five wind farms, each with a capacity of 3 Megawatts (MW).
In conjunction with the municipality of Splügen, Alpiq is building a new small hydroelectric station. The joint venture, Kraftwerk Tambobach AG, is investing around CHF 9 million in the project.
"Tous-Vents" is a wind farm project in the Gros-de-Vaud region, covering the Vaud municipalities of Essertines-sur-Yverdon, Orzens, Pailly, Ursins and Vuarrens.
