We promote zero-emission mobility
Alpiq is committed to a sustainable energy future, in the firm belief that electricity will play a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With this in mind, we have been promoting sustainable mobility programmes over the years.
Ever heard of the high-speed "Hyb-α"? This is the prototype of a plug-in hybrid racing car developed by the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich with our support. It can achieve a promising level of energy efficiency while emitting significantly lower levels of CO2. "Hyb-α" was on show at the Geneva Car Show in spring 2009, where the "Lampo" zero-emission sports car from Protoscar also attracted keen interest. At the same time we took part in the International Advanced Mobility Forum.
We believe in the potential of electrical cars for everyday use, and are extending our support to include two-wheelers. e took part in the E-Scooter exhibition organised by NewRide at SWISSMOTO in Zurich last February, where we also took the opportunity to inform visitors about our commitment to sustainable mobility.
And we're going one step further with the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Both part of a Zero-Emission Project, we promote the introduction of electric cars and study ways of developing a country-wide network of battery charging stations across Switzerland.
