Portfolio management
With our services for your electricity portfolio, ranging from analysis, strategy and design to effective management, you gain important market advantages.
As an electricity producer, energy supplier or large consumer, you need to be on your toes when it comes to electricity procurement. To manage your electricity portfolio effectively, you need to know the current and future structure of your purchase and sales agreements as well as your own production trend. You also need comprehensive knowledge of the electricity wholesale market and access to the market in order to identify risks in good time and make the most of opportunities.
Your objectives:
- As an electricity producer you want to know the market value of your production and determine the loss risk of a power plant outage.
- As an energy supplier you want to know the opportunities and threats facing your current and future energy deliveries, including those to large industrial customers.
- As a large consumer, you want to be able to meet your long-term electricity requirements yet respond flexibly to changes at short notice.

A closed circle: Alpiq's portfolio management allows you to optimally procure electricity based on an appropriate yield-risk ratio, even when secondary factors are taken into account.
Collaboration with us is divided into two phases. During the preparatory phase the project focus is on mutual transfer of knowledge, and on the analysis and formulation of a strategy and concept. This is then used as a sound basis for building up your structured energy deliveries. You can then decide whether you want to continue working with us on operational portfolio management.
