Monthel industrial power station

Monthey industrial power station

The new power station has a thermal capacity of 43 MW and an electrical capacity of 55 MW. The plant replaces a part of the older energy supply facilities of Cimo (Compagnie industrielle de Monthey SA). It will generate 466,000 tonnes of steam and 396 GWh of electricity per year. The steam as well as some of the electrical energy will be supplied to Cimo for the three chemical companies BASF (previously Ciba SC), Syngenta and Huntsman. Any surplus electricity will be fed into the local medium-voltage grid.

Kraftanlagen München GmbH, an Alpiq Group company, delivered the plant as a turn-key project.
